Rant: No Pies, Soggy Fries.

First of all, one of these days I’m going to perfect the Big Mac taste at home, and get the nuggets like theirs and I wouldn’t have to go to McDonalds again.

Secondly, I don’t mean to rant, but if your job is to look at an order, please get as close to right as possible. Please. I ordered before peak hours, so busy moments should NOT be an excuse. (I have worked at a McDonald’s so I understand how crazy the rushes that they get.)

Thirdly, I know I should have not ordered off Door Dash. I mean I’ve complained at Door Dash probably at least six times.

I ordered a box and messed up, wanted extra sauce on my Big Mac and it said No Sauce ….grrrr.

I ordered pies, but never got them. Never got a message or call to change the order.

The fries were soggy, limp, and cold. I live less than two miles from McDonalds, they should have not been that cold.

I should have learned from my previous times of trying to order food on door dash.

My deliverer wasn’t bad, but he claimed everything was there, which it was not. At least my order was not from another restaurant or eaten. I’ve heard other customers had horror stories.

I hope to get a particle refund, but that just makes the cycle go again, sighs.

I just wish I had the energy to clean, write, and cook. Damn anemia and sleep apnea.

Home cooking

I’m in a complicated cooking situation.

I have no stove or oven.

I cook with electric nonstick skillet, toaster, waffle iron, crockpot (slow cooker) and microwave.

I have got cooking pasta and rice in the microwave pretty close. (Notes: they are very hot, because you have to make water boil.)

I noticed I do better when I cook. (I do not like cleaning up. Sigh.) Compared to going out so much.

I just feel with Uber Eats or Door Dash, the things are overpriced and the serving sizes have gotten smaller.

Probably the last few times orders got mixed up or the there was just something making me want more. It didn’t fix the craving or feel the void. (I need to stop ordering when I’m upset.)

Like I said there is nothing like a home cooked meal.

Door Dash

With the pandemic, we have been ordering more food, especially with the stimulus for help.

I do NOT like UberEats. .. they either deny payment or they cancel the order due to lack of drivers. (Even my own health insurance uses Lyft over Uber. . . that is another story.)

So we have tried different restaurants both chain and local. We have gone through DoorDash, the app is easy to use. They have all been quick and easy deliveries.

I love getting my McDonald, Taco bell, Chipotle, Subway, KFC, and Rally delivered. Their food is a bit pricier, but I just think it has to do with extra charges for delivery.

Bob Evans is by far the best for the money, especially the country fried steak meal for four. You get soup, the main on-tray, two sides, and cookies with banana bread, rolls, or biscuits. Super cheesy MacN’cheese It comes up to around 45 dollars before tip. It’s a lot of food. Grade rating: A-

However I have been disappointed with a few local places. . . a local soup place charged us 45 dollars for two soup: mind you one was lobster bisque, but it was too much for soup. For that much money, I could make twice the amount. The bread they served was small and crumbling. There were no crackers. I wouldn’t go back. I liked their plastic containers, still use them. Grade rating: C-

I went to Cracker Barrel today, and I really felt we paid too much for our food. The sides were small, the chicken and dumpling had no taste. The broccoli was cooked well and the chicken was moist. I have a variety of side which was a good thing, but they were way too small of portions. Muffins too small. Macaroni N Cheese very dry. Grade Rating: C-
